WHERE SHOULD I INSTALL MY SMOKE ALARM?
The smoke alarm should be installed between each sleeping area and the remainder of the building or where a sleeping area is served by a hallway, install the alarm in the hall. Always install the smoke alarm on or near the ceiling in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
DO I NEED A CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM?
Every home with at least one fuel-burning appliance/heater, attached garage or fireplace should have a carbon monoxide alarm. If the home has only one carbon monoxide alarm, it should be installed in the main bedroom or in the hallway outside of the sleeping area.
DO I NEED A BURN PERMIT?
All open air burning in the Town of Minto requires a burn permit. Please obtain one by calling the Town of Minto Municipal Office at 519.338.2511.
